My Refuge (Diary of a Believer) Entry 4|June 20,2017

I know with 100% certainty that I’m not suppose to be here. God kept me from alot of things even when I didn’t deserve his mercy or grace. So I started to reflect on why I did the things that I did when I was younger. I discovered I had no identity. I felt that I had no purpose, but just now God revealed to me that the reason I never found purpose was because I was looking for it in all the wrong places and people. God placed purpose in me through him. God’s purpose exceeds all. No matter what plan the devil may think he has planned, nothing will ever be allowed without my Father’s permission. Thank you my King for keeping me even when I didn’t deserve to be kept. For always having the faith and confidence in me that I never had in myself. How can I not uplift you when you have ALWAYS uplifted me?! You are worthy to be praised. ❤

Forever Praising You,

The Backstory

The Backstory

A friend of mine reached out to me and told me that she just purchased a new car. I was beyond ecstatic for her! See, I knew everything she had gone through to get to that point. There were a lot of ups and downs, but she made it through. She also decided to share her blessing with a colleague at work whose response was one of jealousy and selfishness. When she shared this with me I started to think about the concept of backstories. As Christians, as people period, when someone shares uplifting news that will positively impact their lives we should co-sign on God’s blessing with a positive confirmation. When someone hears “That’s amazing” or “I’m so happy for you” in those situations, it’s simply God in you and using you to uplift that person because they have a backstory.

Maybe they’ve never owned a car, maybe they’ve been walking 3 miles to work every day, or maybe the car they just paid off is irreparable. I’ve noticed sometimes we as humans are so quick to judge without knowing all of the details. Often when we find out those details, guilt settles in because now you can understand why this person feels so happy and blessed. We can’t truly confess our love for Christ if we don’t truly and with all of our heart order our steps in his word. Our God is a giving God. We have to love and uplift everyone as he does every day. God says in Luke 6:38 that, “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” With all sincerity we must be happy for others. God has ensured in doing so our blessings will be more than the human mind could ever imagine. Corinthians 9:8 says, “And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work”. So instead of focusing on what we don’t have, let’s see the glory in the blessings of others even if they aren’t our own. Those are the moments we get to witness and confirm our God is in the business of giving.

Giving It Up For Him (Diary of a Believer)|Entry 3 June 8,2017

On my road to salvation, I’ve given up so many things that I once thought brought me peace and happiness. Knowing what I do, I would still do it all over again to have the relationship that I have with my King now. I acknowledge that I’m still human so all of this is an adjustment for me. Some days are easier than others. Today was a tough one. I prayed and asked God to give me peace. Not only did he give me peace, but he showed me understanding and sympathy tonight by leading me to Philippians…

Thank you Father for your unwavering love. For leading me to passages as if you’re sitting next to me talking me down from the ledge. You have given me more strength than I could have ever imagined. I’m so in love with you.

Forever ➕ Always
